Pre-birthday celebrations! It's Grandparents' Week, y'all!!!

Lennan got to spend some quality time with each set of grandparents this week.  What a great way to celebrate her pre-first birthday!!!!

We were still having adventures in Huntsville at the beginning of the week.  Here are the memories created:

Grandma and Granddad St.Clair and Leni with crazy hair!

We canoed:

Leni loved watching the water go by. 

Leni and Grandma played with Mommy's "Ponies":

We had lots and lots of naps, waking up slowly and luxuriously:

We chewed on some unconventional things:

We played with the "Cuteness Bazooka!"

"Eh-eh-eh-eh-eh!"  Don't get shot!

And we played a great round of Peekaboo on the couch!

 

AND THEN.....

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION TIME!  (#1)

Mommy made a lovely cake just for Leni:

Vanilla cupcakes with cookie dough flavoured icing!

Here's the proof that I made it myself!  So proud.

So how did it go?

First we sang the Happy Birthday song...

And Leni didn't understand what the heck was going on!

She didn't quite know what to do at first...

A tentative first taste...

THEN IT WAS ALLLLLLLLLL OVER!!!!!!!!!!!

And when it was over....she wanted more.

SUCCESS!

Then we had some presents and it was AWESOME!!!

Thank you for the African shoes, Adam and Marilize!!!

And Leni got very excited about one of her gifts from Grandma and Granddad!

Thanks for the visit, you two!  (And Daddy photo-bombed this shot!)

Then we stayed at home for one full day.  It was fun.  

The SOLD sign was up in our front yard!

Then we creeped the SOLD sign on our new house!

Hung out it the beautified garden.

Then we went to Chatham!!!!!!!!

The two extremes of Birthday Girl-ness.  Blow out those candles!!!!

This time she needed slightly less encouragement to dive right in.

And we got to see little 5-week old Rowen again!  Here's Leni giving the baby a kiss.

Have we created a kissing-monster!??!?!?!  If so, that's ok...it's cute!!!!!  But we may have to cool it a little before daycare.

We won't go THIS far though!

What a great week of celebrating our Little Buddha and looking forward to what's next!!
